Prenton Literary and Debating Society was established in 1890
when members welcomed the arrival of Sherlock Holmes in Beeton’s Christmas
Annual but wondered if the dastardly deeds recorded might distress the ladies.
In 1896 members discussed The Klondike gold rush and its affect on
Liverpool shipping, (with crews deserting to seek their fortunes).
And this season we have a splendid selection of subjects. (See menu).
